The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is set to tighten entry rules for nationals of 43 countries, including Russia and Belarus, according to U.S. media reports.
The U.S. State Department has developed a set of recommendations dividing 43 countries into three categories — “red,” “orange,” and “yellow.”
The “red” group includes 11 countries whose citizens will be completely denied entry in the United States. These countries are Afghanistan, Bhutan, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen.
The “orange” list consists of 10 countries whose citizens will face visa restrictions. Entry will only be permitted for “wealthy business travelers,” while immigration and tourist visas will not be issued.

Russia and Belarus are included in the “orange” group, along with Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Turkmenistan.
Additionally, 22 countries have been placed on the “yellow” list, giving them 60 days to address U.S. government concerns. Failure to comply could result in them being moved to the “red” or “orange” categories.
The recommendations could be officially presented next week and the final list may still change.
It’s unclear whether the new restrictions will apply to those who already hold valid visas or if existing visas will be revoked. It is also unknown whether the changes will affect green card holders who have already been granted legal permanent residence in the U.S.
